Head of Operations Hub
Role Purpose
To lead the Operations Hub — the central point of welcome, information, and support — ensuring every participant and volunteer feels informed, supported, and connected.
About The Team
The Operations Team is the engine that keeps HIJ running, from the moment participants arrive to the final pack-down. Whether it’s coordinating arrivals, managing information, keeping teams fed, or running event control, this team ensures everything works seamlessly.

What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver a smooth and welcoming arrivals and registration experience
- Lead a central helpdesk supporting participants and staff
- Ensure accurate and timely information is shared across the site
- Coordinate closely with Event Control and other teams
- Manage and support front-facing volunteers
Skills & Qualities Required
- Good communication and organisational abilities.
- Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving ability.
- Confidence working with volunteers of different backgrounds and experiences.

Time Commitment
- Regular planning meetings in the lead-up to the event
- Increased involvement in the 6 months prior
- Full availability during the jamboree:
- Set-up: 19–21 July 2028
- Event: 22–29 July 2028
- Breakdown: 30 July – 1 August 2028
