What is a DofE Residential?

The Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award Residential section is about spending time away from home with people you've never met before, sharing experiences and working together towards a common goal.

Hampshire International Jamboree offers an exciting opportunity to complete your Residential while helping deliver an unforgettable international event for thousands of young people.

What You'll Be Doing

During the week you'll become part of the HIJ International Service Team.

Depending on your skills, interests and operational requirements, you could be supporting areas such as:

  • Programme
  • Retail
  • Logistics
  • Communications
  • Guest Services
  • Administration
  • Event Support
  • Infrastructure

You'll be fully supported throughout the week and become part of a friendly volunteer team.

Residential volunteers are expected to attend for the full duration of the event.

Eligibility

Applicants should:

  • Be completing the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
  • Meet the DofE Residential requirements.
  • Be willing to volunteer for the full event.
  • Be enthusiastic, reliable and ready to work as part of a team.

Registration Fee

The standard HIJ staff registration fee of £120 applies.

Your registration includes camping, catering, volunteer facilities and event clothing.
